The National HouseCheck Foundation voted in Ann Louden and Dr. Doohi Lee to its national board at its September 17, 2019 board meeting. Both new board members bring a unique skill set to helpi the foundation achieve its vision of stopping the cycle of domestic abuse, and we are excited to have them join us.
Ann is a seasoned non-profit and philanthropy expert. In the last three decades, she has led fund-raising efforts in excess of $150 million for higher education, health care, the arts, and adoption.
Founder of the Ann Louden Strategy and Consulting Company, Ann uses her expertise in raising money, building brands, staging mega events, and providing leadership development to advise non-profit executives, boards and volunteers. A recent transplant from Texas to New York City, Ann is actively involved on the President’s Council of New York Women in Development, with the New York National Speakers Association, and as a volunteer for multiple causes.Currently writing a new book called Connection as a Superpower: How Social Courage Gives Us the Edge in Life and Love, Ann seeks out the stories of connections heroes.
A cancer survivor, she has also created and produced seven full-scale music videos, seen by more than a half million people, to celebrate the courage of cancer survivors.
Dr. Doohi Lee is a medical doctor trained in radiology, surgery and integrative medicine, with wide breadth of interests and experiences including laser medicine and surgery, vein surgery, advanced interventional pain management, regenerative medicine, and cosmetic surgery. From his training in radiology, he applies the SPECT brain scans to evaluate the functional changes in the brain associated with conditions such as ADD, depression, PTSD and traumatic brain Injury arising from sports and battle wounds.
Dr. Lee is a published author of numerous medical articles and book chapters, and is currently writing a book on the Diamond MatrixÒ, which is a philosophical construct of Integrative Medicine where it provides a roadmap for an individual to achieve optimal health and happiness. As an expert in the field of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, Dr. Lee served as an invited physician at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics to introduce and evaluate world athletes using this technology. In 2005, he also worked with a team of physicians and scientists at NASA researching the application of ultrasound in space, communicating directly with the astronauts aboard the International Space Station. He is recipient of the Gold Medal Award from the American College of Phlebology, The Sinsheimer Research Award from the New York Medical College and the Resident Research Award (First Prize) from the Henry Ford Hospital. Dr. Lee currently serves on the Editorial Boards of the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery and the Journal of Clinical Ultrasound.Dr. Lee actively works with medical device companies as consultant, speaker and trainer, while lecturing regularly both here and abroad in the areas of Laser Medicine, Regenerative Medicine, and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. Also a pianist, he has performed in recitals and chamber music concerts in the USA, Canada, Europe and South America.
Giving back to his community, Dr. Lee has served on the Plano Symphony Steering Committee and The Irving Symphony Board. He has also worked closely with local charities dedicated to assisting battered women and the indigent.
