This HouseCheck Foundation Chapter is a local funding arm of the National HouseCheck Foundation. As a grant provider, it partners with social service agencies and community resources to stop the cycle of domestic abuse within the household. In so doing, the chapter raises and grant funds to community and social services agencies to provide a variety of sustainable direct services bound by standards and oversight procedures. This assistance may include:
- temporary shelter
- child protection
- mental health counseling
- family counseling
- life skills
- job training
- alcohol and drug addiction treatment
- educational opportunities… and more
If you feel passionate about stopping the cycle of domestic abuse and would like to offer your time and talent to assist the local chapter, please complete the form on our Volunteer page. Once received, a board member will be happy to contact you to determine the best way you can help.
If you are a member of a social service agency or community nonprofit who wants to explore available grants for expanding protection and prevention services, you can begin by completing an initial application on our Grants page. Once your initial application is received, a member of the local chapter board will be happy to discuss whether your goals and objectives meet the initial criteria required to qualify as a potential grantee. If so, the board member will provide you a formal document outlining requirements for submitting your proposal to the national board for approval.
If funds are granted, the local chapter will be responsible for overseeing that the funds are applied as proposed and report their finding to the national board. This process ensures that we are funding the right projects for the right reasons and helps to maintain sustainability.
